Rojbaş! Wek tu dizanî, ez bi kurdî re têkildar bim. Min dît ku te lîsteya min a navên mêweyan bikaranî. Armanca te çêkirina rûpelên nû yên gotinên fransî li ser Wîkîferhengê bû? Dibê ez hê bi kurdî gelek tiştan fêr bim. Eger tu bipejirînî, ezê carina ji te ra tiştan bipirsim. Sipas, CathFR 15:37, 19 rezber 2009 (UTC)

Silav Catherine!

Te nivîsî:

Bi nav xêrê da bî, hêja Husein! Îro, gelek pirsên min hene:
Gelo tu dikarî van rûpelan tesdîq bikî: fr:dê û fr:Annexe:Conjugaison kurde/ewtîn (kişandina lêkera ewtîn)?

DÊ 1. dayik 2. lêkera dema bê (future): Ez dê biçim. (I will go.) 3. haydê, de: De were! (Come on!)

EWTIN:

Ez diewim, ez dê biewim, ez naewim, ez ne-ewîm...
  • Dibê kes bibêjin min pirs kir an min pirsê kir?
Herdem "pirs kirin" e, ne "pirsê kirin": Ez pirs dikim, min pirs kir...
  • jin anîn / kirin û mêr kirin lêkerên têper in, lê tiştên rêzimanî (bireser?) "jin" û "mêr" in? Bi kesekê ra mêr kirin û bi kesekî ra jin kirin tên gotin?
"jin anîn" (literally: "to bring a woman" = to marry a woman) Mirov tenê dibêjin: "Min jin anî" (I got married [with a woman].) yan "Min jin/mêr kir" (I got married [with a woman/man]). Lê "Ez bi ... re zewicîm." (I married somebody.)
  • Ma lêkera werîn di demên borî da tê bi kar anîn? Ez werîm, ez diwerîm...
"Werîn" bi wateya "hatin" (venir, to come) di demên borî de nayê bikaranîn. Lê bi maneya daketina pelên daran (falling of leaves) tê xebitandin.
  • Rûpela kurdî hate vala kirin? Normal e?
Sabotaj bû, min vegerrand rewşa berê.)

About names of animals

biguhêre

Rojbaş! Pêşîn, ez ji bo alîkarîya te sipas dikim. Min rûpelên ewtîn, pirs kirin, jin kirin û mêr kirin guhertin, û ezê yên din bi nêzîk da biguherim.
Now I am going to ask you several questions about names of animals in Kurdish. I am writing in English because I may forward your answer to a French user.

  • Thanks for your questions. I'm afraid I have very limited knowledge of flora and fauna, but I'll try to help you as much as possible.
  • I have never seen the word abdar (horse) in my textbooks and it is not in Baran Rizgar's dictionary. Is it often used and does it have exactly the same meaning as hesp?
I haven't heard it used by any Kurd in spoken Kurdish. However, it is used in some dictionaries and wordlists, for instance, here:
http://www.wordgumbo.com/ie/ini/krd/erkrdeng.htm
http://www.beepworld.de/members19/divitiae/tuerkischkurdisch.htm
  • According to Baran Rizgar, baz means goshawk in English (birds of the Accipiter genus), which globally corresponds to épervier and autour in French, or sparrow hawk (Falco sparverius or Accipiter nisus).
According to Michael Chyet's dictionary, baz means falcon = başok. Zana Farqînî, too, provides Turkish doğan (Falco). Baz is also Persian.

A vulture
  • On the Wîkîferheng page, the definition of baz is şahîn, helo (eagle) and its French translation is vautour (vulture in English) whereas its English translations are hawk, falcon and buzzard.
  • I corrected wîkîferheng's French translation from vautour to faucon.
  • Atemce (or more likely: atmece) is a loandword from Turkish atmaca used possibly in Turkey some Kurds who do not know the Kurdish word başok. I have never seen atemce (or any close spelling) in written Kurdish.
  • A vulture (see picture) looks different from the other peybirds and mostly eats carcasses, but do you have more information about the Kurdish words meaning falcon, hawk and buzzard?
  • vulture is sîsalk (and its several other dialectal spellings) or kurt as well as qertel / xertel (a loanword from Turkish, kartal) especially when used as a derogatory word for a human being.

Thank you.

  • Salah Saadalla's English-Kurdish dictionary gives the following definitions to each of the birds:

- buzzard: helo, eylo

- eagle: helo, simsiyark (=sîsalk)

- falcon: laçin, baz, şehbaz, eloh, eylo, helo, şimqar, şahîn, terlan, dubirak

- vulture: keçelok, sîsarq (=sîsalk), kerges, simsiyark, başokê kurt

I hope this can be of some help to you.

Best wishes --Ferhengvan 07:22, 19 kewçêr 2009 (UTC)

Silav CathFR, tu çawa yî, baş î? Gelo tu dikarî li vir peyamekê ji min re bi rê bikî. (li ser emîla-te). Spas--George Animal (gotûbêj) 16:47, 16 reşemî 2016 (UTC)
