Şiroveya dawî: berî 4 salan ji aliye Balyozxane ve

I added the ar loan word I heard in Duhok bazaar, but maybe spelling is wrong. Ev peyama bêîmze ya IbrahimKocher Duhok (gotûbêjbeşdarî) e.

@IbrahimKocher Duhok: Excuse my use of languge but I'm so sick of your behavior here. You are not supposed to add every DAMN word you hear walking in the streets. Look for sources using the said word, take a look at Badini dictionaries. Find three different sources that accept the word as Kurdish, then you can add it to Wîkîferheng.--Balyozxane (gotûbêj) 12:52, 9 îlon 2020 (UTC)Bersiv bide

@Balyozxane: Dem baş dosto. This is an important issue. I agree; we don't want unsubstantiated words filling WF, but if the word for vaccine in the Duhok Province is often liqah then I would argue it is important to add it. The problem is that Behdini dictionaries (and there are not many of them) often don't add Arabic loan words, because they tend to be prescriptive rather than descriptive in their approach to lexicography. I live in Duhok; to me and many others it is important to be able to look up important words that we hear being used in Kurdish speech and find out what they mean.

I would be very glad to talk more about this issue, on Whatsapp if you like. You will be glad to know that I am now endeavouring to be more rigorous in my editing; I will add @Ferhad Kurdi: when I am having the regular editing conversations I have with my editor and friend Farhad.

But also, you might find this email guidance from one admin on WF illuminating:

At ku.wiktionary we have less strict rules for sourcing (actually in majority of cases en.wiktionary doesn't follow the rule either).

Common words with common meanings don't have to be sourced. Rare words or rare meanings of common words are ideally sourced (print or electronic source). If no written source is available, the region(s) where the word or the rare meaninig is used should be mentioned.

At ku.wiktionary our aim is to prevent people creating neologisms only for the purpose if entering them in the dictionary. If a neologism is created and used elsewhere and then entered in Wîkîferheng, it's fine.

At ku.wiktionary, only Kurdish words have to be sourced. Words of other languages can be entered and their definitions/equivalents in Kurdish provided without sourcing. Only if the, say, English word is extremely rare so that it's hardly found in English dictionaries, then providing one or more sources is advisable.

Best wishes, XXXX (I can explain which Admin this was if you want to discuss this further; we could make it a three-way discussion, for example)

Anyway, enough from me.

With best Wishes, Ibrahim/ Jeremy.

@IbrahimKocher Duhok:. Thanks for finally giving a reply. That e-mail you received was sent in 2016 and back then we didn't have any rules for attestion but now we do. You can take a look at them here Wîkîferheng:Pîvekên tevlîkirinê which was discussed here Gotûbêja Wîkîferhengê:Rêbazname and voted on here Wîkîferheng:Dengdan/Rêzik/Rêbazname. So whatever the e-mail mentions is moot atm. I DID try to discuss with other users to allow words used locally without attestion but no one accepted that. We are stuck with 3 attestion rule right now. If you care about words from Dihok enough, you should start a discussion on Gotûbêja Wîkîferhengê:Pîvekên tevlîkirinê and i will support you on that when the voting starts. But in order to do this you must leave the communication channels open. Otherwise we will have to keep deleting unattested Dihokî words. Also when you dont sign your messages with ~~~~, people you're talking to don't get a notification. take a look at this image to see how to sign:
